Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a seventh grade ELA special educator, and I am also an advisor. This is part two of my fundraising campaign. My advisory group of students is an amazing group of students. I have ten students in my advisory, five boys and five girls. They are an engaging group with unique personalities and are respectful of each other.

My students are creative, thoughtful, and full of questions and insight.

This is a crazy year due to the pandemic, and my advisory is in a blended model. So when they do come to school physically, they are engaged and ready to learn. They are excited about new challenges and new discoveries. I want to create an advisory where the students feel safe, welcomed, and appreciated for who they are and that is a place they can feel safe to share. So wanted to add a few more books to my classroom library!

It's been a crazy year with the pandemic and I want to continue to give my students something consistent, books! Help me give these kids a wide array of books to escape reality, increase their reading comprehension, build their creativity, and open up their minds to new adventures and new ways of looking at the world!
