My Project

I am a first year science and social studies teacher in North Carolina. I will be teaching ~90 students during the upcoming school year.

As a first year teacher, I’m looking for your support to establish an inviting and educational classroom environment for my students.

Our school is in an area where students need assistance with basic supplies. Basic items are always needed, such as pencils, notebooks, posters, and storage items. These items will enable my students to engage and learn in the classroom. I’m really looking forward to using the buzzers and STEM building blocks to utilize game play as an educational tool. The candy and small fidget items will be used as rewards, helping encourage student engagement, participation, and work ethic. The posters I have selected focus specifically on materials that will be covered in our curriculum this school year.

I’ve also requested a rolling desk that I will use as a teaching podium, and also utilize it as I move about the classroom, ensuring I am able to work with each student individually while continuing to operate slides / teach lessons to the class.

I’ve also included in this project a few items that I know will benefit preteen students, such as hygiene items (toothbrushes).
