My Students

Worrying about food, money, transportation, and clothing are adult worries, yet many of the students at my school face these "grown-up" problems each day. In spite of the challenges they face, they constantly rise to the occasion and frequently blow me away with their abilities to learn.

My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds.

Some have, and some do not. It is my job to level their playing field so that all have a chance to be successful. Through hands-on, exciting, and active assessment, all students in my third grade, inner-city classroom prove themselves time and time again.

My Project

I am requesting a class set of dry erase boards, markers, and erasers. Having these items in my classroom will provide a myriad of learning opportunities. I currently am blessed with an interactive white board in my classroom. It is a great instructional/learning tool, however not all students are constantly "at the board." Having these white boards will allow all them to constantly be engaged and actively participating with what's on the board while using their own dry erase board. This will save paper and allow my classroom to become 1 step closer to being a green classroom. It is my hope that one day my classroom is paper free!!! Dry erase boards can be used for many assessments, games, and interactive learning. I cannot wait to have these resources available to my students!
