My Students

My students are from a very small, rural farming community. We are a Title I, K-8 school with just a little under 500 students. Our school is over 100 years old and is an important landmark in our community. My grandmother, mother, myself, and my siblings all went to school here, so I am very partial and proud to be teaching at this school and want our students to have every opportunity to flourish as learners! Please spread the word!

My Project

Having student computers in our room would give my students the much needed, daily experience to perfect skills for testing. Also, having a computer station available for creating student research and writing projects would create a new excitement for writing and publishing student work. A daily routine with classroom computers would build additional skills such as math and reading through engaging, educational websites that track progress for individual students. Many of our students do not come to us in Kindergarten having good computer skills. Computer experience in the classroom will help students when taking our state mandated tests as well.
