Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kindergarten students are young, curious and energetic learners! My students come from different cultural backgrounds and have a range of learning needs. I have students with disabilities in my classroom, which include Autism and ADHD.

Many of my students need multiple opportunities for movement breaks throughout the day in order to learn, and to help prevent behavioral challenges.

My students would benefit from specially designed seating to help satisfy their need to move, fidget, and "wobble" during instructional time.

My Project

I teach in an Integrated Co-Taught Kindergarten classroom. I have students with Autism and ADHD, and because my students are young, they all have a lot of energy! While my students have many opportunities throughout the day to get up and move, there are times during the day when sitting and completing work is required. Wobble Chairs, which are chairs designed to help satisfy the need for movement, can help my students stay on task and learn. Having 3 Wobble Chairs available for my students to use during instructional time will truly help them learn in a way that is best for them.
