Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
I teach first grade at an inner city school in Indianapolis. My students are great and I work hard to teach them all that they need to be life long learners.
My students learn best by moving their bodies. I know that they can remember a song when they hear it one time, but when I try to get them to remember sight words or math tables, they struggle.
I am requesting wood percussion instruments (imagine xylophones!) so that my students can use music and rhythm to help them learn. I know that if they can move and make music while they learn math tables and sight words that the learning will become long term and that they will be able to recall what they know. They will become the learners that we all know they can be.
Help me get music into learning. Help my students learn. I know they have it in them to be wonderful learners, will you please help them move and sing their way to knowledge.
