My Students

My students are a group of innovative hard working kids that are looking to make a mark on their class. They look at their work and try to find new ways to accomplish it. They want to create and explore and see what they can make with the tools they are given.

Seeing the world for what it is and making plans to make it better is what my kids are good at and what I want to help them do.

My Project

Students have had a hard time sitting still and learning all day. With the growing number of students with Attention Deficit Disorders and students who like to move, it is important to give them an outlet for their wiggles while they learn. With non-traditional seating options in the classroom, students are given the option to use traditional chairs or ones that let them get their wiggles out while they learn. These options are making a difference in students learning because they are able to focus more on the information rather than their need to sit still in a chair.

I know that I prefer to stand and walk around to learn, so I would love the opportunity for my students to have those same options.

These wobble chairs and balance ball do just that. They give the learner the option to move or not depending on their learning style and personality. The carpet and storage cart are also tools that will help facilitate a new style of classroom where without traditional desks they will be able to store materials and have a cozy place to sit.
