My Project

The 5th grade teaching team wants to send off our students with something big. What better to get parents, families, and students involved than a picnic?

Our elementary school is built on community, students have been attending this school for generations and have deep rooted ties in the area.

As a teaching staff, we want to tap into that sense of community and bring it into each and every one of our classrooms. School is and should be a safe haven for students, a place where they feel welcome and accepted. In order to get one step closer to achieving that for ALL students this year, the teaching team is combining efforts to throw a picnic to say see you later but not goodbye to our 5th grade class. These fundraising efforts will be used to purchase food and paper supplies for the picnic--specifically, chicken tenders, and juice.

This will not only be a great time to celebrate and get to know one another, but also for parents and families to meet the adults that will be spending each and every school day with their young people for the next year.
