Help Ms. Wiggins

My Students

Help close the digital divide! The only tool stopping my third graders from accessing a world full of information, and interacting with technology, is a projector. Please help me bring my students into the Technology Age.

My third grade students are from an urban neighborhood steps away from a public housing development where most of them live.

None of the students in my class have access to the Internet or a computer at home. Many of them do not have the ability to venture out of their neighborhood let alone the city. Please assist me in my quest to inform, educate, and broaden the horizons of my students.

My Project

By funding this project and providing my students with a projector the possibilities for my class are endless. I plan on taking my special agents on a journey around the world. Technology will take them from their home to view their state and country, and then travel to Europe or Africa with a click of the mouse. My students can also get a glimpse of their futures by viewing colleges locally and across the nation. The days of having a pen pal will never end. My students can hold a video conference with a classroom from across the world. My students can also share the gift of reading, compete against each other with handheld remotes, and see the results in real-time. This projector allows my class to display their PowerPoint and other work with pride. Help close the digital divide! Bless us with a projector and open the doors to a world of opportunity.

"The need is great.

The time is now. Teach." This quote inspired me to change careers and teach low-income students. Every part of this quote is true. Although you may not be able to devote all your time and energy to these urban students, you can donate. Make a donation that will bring Ms. W.'s Special Agents into the Technology Age.
