My Students

I am an elementary school physical education teacher, teaching in a special needs school in New York City. My students are in Kindergarten through 5th grade and cope with autism, moderate-to-severe, or multiple disabilities. Everyday my students walk into my gym with an "I can" attitude, even though we know it is not always easy to do so.

My bright, energetic, and passionate students do not always receive the same opportunities as their general education counterparts, but we are working to change that.

I love my students and I want to give them the tools they need and the opportunities they deserve to continue to grow and learn how to live a healthy active lifestyle. Please consider donating to our projects. I know that my incredible students, my paraprofessionals, and I will be eternally grateful to you. Thank you so much.

My Project

My students have a very limited amount of resources available to them . Many times students with special needs are overlooked, and the general majority forgets that these students need just as much exercise as anyone.

With your help, I would like to expose my students to as many athletic activities as possible, showing them a variety of different sports and games that promote physical activity and fitness.

These scooters will help my students develop fine motor skills, core stability, vestibular input, and help strengthen their upper and lower extremities. Scooters are also great for helping students to improve their focus and attention.
