Moving and Grooving While Learning

Help me give my students flexible seating and storage to make this possible. My students learn best moving, and with these seating options they can have fun while moving and learning.

My Students

My students love to learn! To foster their love for learning we need to create a space for movement and hands-on activities. We also need storage to free up space for our differentiated seating.

We are a small pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade school in Oklahoma.

My class consists of 20 six and seven-year-olds. Because of the demographics of our school, we do not get much federal assistance.

My students are very tactile learners. They need to touch and manipulate objects to help them develop spatial reasoning, problem solving, and language skills. They also need room to move and relax in a safe environment.

My Project

The materials that I am requesting for my students will allow them to focus on learning rather than sitting up straight and still in a chair. The times that we are facing in our world are so serious, and our students need a fun escape to learn and step away from all of the crazy. In order to take out desks, I will need additional storage to put their books and supplies. The cubby seats will offer great seating for my new library area and provide storage for books and supplies. My students will rotate each week through the three different seating options. This will help my classroom be inviting, relaxing, and will create a wonderful learning environment.
