My Students
I teach 5th grade reading in one of the best schools in Oklahoma! My students are a diverse group with varied levels. Our classroom is a space where students enjoy coming to learn, but in a non-traditional way. We are a Title I school with the majority of our students receiving free lunches. These kids have the biggest hearts you'll ever come across. Every single one of my students has integrity, compassion, and a positive attitude. They are truly amazing people. My school is wonderfully supportive of the project-based learning that we do in our classroom. I couldn't ask for a better environment for these students! We are truly a community!
My Project
I have had Teen Kore Active Chairs at my guided reading table for the past few years. My kids love them! They love the fact that they can wiggle around and be active while learning. Unfortunately, we only have them for guided reading. When we discussed what would help them become more successful in class, my kids immediately told me to get more so that they can each have one at their own desks. My students voted, and decided that these Teen Kore Active Chairs will be the best tools to help them reach their goals! This kid-inspired project will help me work toward giving my kids what they want! This would help us get closer to having one for every student, which is what they've been asking for! The 3 Wobble Cushions would complete our class set, allowing everyone sitting to have one!

Kids are active. My kids need to move and wiggle around. However, they also need to learn. We can make this work when we use Teen Kore Active Chairs and Wobble Cushions! These chairs wouldn't just be used for 60 minutes of exercise, they would be used all day long! With these chairs, my students told me they would be able to be comfortable and concentrate, which translates to better engagement and learning. These chairs allow the students to move, but aren't a big distraction to the students around them. Teen Kore Active Chairs and Wobble Cushions can help them continue to learn despite their need for constant movement. What a wonderful way to combine learning and exercise! My students love Active Chairs!
