My Students

My students need flexible seating options to keep them engaged and focused during the day. Having a variety of seating options help students who have a hard time sitting at their desks to be engaged throughout the day.

My students come from very low socio-economic backgrounds, in which approximately over 80% of the students in the school receive free lunch.

I service students with special needs as well as students who are English Language Learners. Many of my students also come from single parent homes and at least a handful have experienced some kind of trauma in their lives that affect them greatly, and in turn, impact their academic performance. In addition, approximately 10% of our students are homeless.

Although their personal backgrounds put them at a disadvantage they bring their smiles into the classroom every day. They're mathematicians, poets, authors, scientists, and much more!

My Project

Wobble stools allow students to make choices that work best for them. During independent work or group work, my students are allowed to choose seating options and locations in the classroom that work best for them.

Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them.

Having a variety of seating options help students make good choices that will help them be successful in school. This will help students stay more engaged, and get more work completed than when they are just sitting at their desk in a chair.

My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of where to work.
