Have you tried to squeeze 21 kids onto a rug designed for 16? It's hard! My kids need a bigger classroom rug where they can spread out and have their own personal space.
I absolutely love my students!
They come to me eager to learn and hear about our day. They come from a wide variety of backgrounds and bring with them a wide variety of experiences. Our school works together with the community, parents and teachers to provide a quality education for each and every child that walks through the doors.
My Project
We will use a new classroom rug all day every day! We will start our day doing "Morning Meeting" on the rug, where students greet each other and start the day. Students will work in language and Math centers on the rug, doing hands-on experiments and activities. And we will end our day on the rug with a closing before dismissal. This rug is vital to our daily classroom routine, and will make things so much easier!
Right now, my 21 students are squeezed onto a rug designed for 16 students.
They have to sit totally still so as to not bump into anyone, and that's hard for a Kindergartener! We need a bigger rug so that each student can have a space that is theirs. With their own personal space, I believe my students will be able to focus more on my teaching and be better students.
