Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The silent real-life crime fighting heroes, the modern-day Sherlock Holmes and popular TV shows like CSI, NCIS, SVU and 48 hours have spawned a renewed interest in forensic science. I want to bring these ideas into the classroom to immerse students in the real life application of forensics.

These students are truly amazing!

School spirited, talented and academically on-point. They are focused, dedicated, and curious humans waiting to dive into the knowledge of real-world applications of Science. They are academic super-heroes disguised as average teenagers.

My Project

"Wherever he steps, wherever he touches, whatever he leaves, even without consciousness, will serve as a silent witness against him. Not only his fingerprints or his footprints, but his hair, the fibers from his clothes, the glass he breaks, the tool mark he leaves, the paint he scratches, the blood he deposits or collects. All of these and more, bear mute witness against him. This is evidence that does not forget. It is not confused by the excitement of the moment. - Paul L. This is the intense emotion I want to bring into my classroom. The resources in which I am asking for will bring that real life application of forensics into the classroom. With these resources, my students will be able to investigate mock crime scenes using real-life technology and equipment that is used in the field, and apply the knowledge gained in the course to further their education after high school at a university level.

These resources will allow my students to fully understand what it takes to be a forensic scientist.

I hope to inspire students to express their interest in the sciences as a fulfilling career and go on to further acquire knowledge in universities and internships. These resources will allow students to see beyond a desk and a textbook.
