My Students

Our school is in a low socioeconomic area of the city. We are a Title I school meaning that most students qualify for free or reduced lunch subsidized by the federal government. Many students are dropped off at school around 7:30 am and some aren't picked up until 6 pm. Many of the students' families come from other countries. Their home language is often something other than English. I have a responsibility to guide my students through the year providing them with new and diverse experiences to make them lifelong learners.

I teach in a Humanities/ Leadership Magnet.

Humanitarianism and Leadership skills are developed and emphasized throughout the year.

My Project

These materials will make a tremendous difference for my class because they are now using Chromebooks in class more than ever. Since my students all have their own device to use, they are realizing that having a computer mouse can help navigate through various programs used in the class.

My students want to use a computer mouse.

In my room now, I have one extra and many students want to use it. They see their classmates with their own computer mouse having an easier time with assignments. I believe with computer mouse (mice) my students will achieve better throughout the year.
