Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are in the Special Education program that is in a high needs, low income, Title I school. Our students are primarily English Language Learners. Our school is made up of 70% ELL and 100% of them receive free breakfast and lunch. The items I have chosen will help me achieve their potential in the way they need to be taught. They learn differently and are motivated differently as well. So, it is extremely important to keep students engage in learning and it feels great to reward them for their efforts! Instruction can be taught differently with each child and learning that is the key to teaching Special Education.

My Project

These items will help keep my students engaged and provide them with those hands on manipulative's. The candies are to reward the students for their awesome behavior and to keep them motivated to continue working! I have added storage containers that will be used to store the candies and to create a treasure box for the students to earn every Friday! Just like adults, students need motivation to keep going forward with their learning and what better way for them to see the awesome stuff they can earn! The other supplies will be used to show my students that they can still learn while having fun. I want to be able to provide them all these items and show them you can come back strong after losing a school year due to the pandemic. With COVID we must maintain the classroom clean and with the vacuum that will help the class stay clean!
