My Project

"To motivate young people to be better citizens." This is the mission of the Army JROTC program. Our high school is starting an Army JROTC program to help meet this mission for our community and country. This program is intended to be a cadet-led program, which means that the students/cadets are responsible for developing plans, running events, logistical support, and many other duties. For a JROTC program to be successful, a great deal of support must be obtained from the school and the parents of our cadets. This support comes in the form of time, involvement, and resources to help ensure that our cadets have every opportunity and resource available to maximize the positive impact this program can bring to them and the community.

The supplies I am requesting will be used in various ways.

The most significant purchase, the shelves, will be used to store many of the uniform items that the cadets will be issued. The cadets will need many supplies and materials to help fulfill their duties and responsibilities as cadet leaders. This ranges from cadet leaders updating event calendars with dry-erase markers to creating sign-in rosters for events using clipboards. Leaders at certain levels also need binders to maintain cadet-focused records on those they lead and notepads to write down information during meetings. The other cadets in the program will also use these materials to help them complete projects, assessments, and various activities in the day-to-day lessons that will be taught.

These materials will help me ensure that this first year of the program starts at a walk instead of a crawl. They will enable me to have the infrastructure in place for the cadets, which will enable them to progress and grow the program more effectively.
