My Project

As a mother of two young adults who's on the Autism Spectrum Disorder, I have seen first hand how exposure to music and musical instruments played a crucial role in their lives. This is why I am passionate about having instruments in my classroom for my students. I love that my students are creative, passionate, curious, resilient, dedicated and most of all showed up to school every day with a smile on their face is a testament of their character. My students looked forward to our music period. We clapped, sang, and danced

Having these instruments in our classroom would create a more stimulating, interactive, and creative learning environment.

Playing an instrument will give my student a chance to explore different sounds and rhythms. Music is always powerful outlet for students to express themselves and find a sense of fulfillment. Playing together as a group will give them the chance to see the importance of team work. I'm hopeful that through this music project their brains will be stimulated and their memory, attention, and problem-solving skills will improve. Playing on these instruments will help to reduce stress, anxiety, and allow my students to relax and manage their emotions effectively. I would like for all students to have equal access to music because it will open up a new word to them that despite any difficulties they may encounter they all speak the same musical language.

My students are dedicated to learning and growing in every aspect of their lives and I am proud of the effort they put into their work each and every day. With this project there's no doubt they will continue to succeed to their fullest potential.
