Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are 5th through 8th graders in need of support in math. We work in a small group to strengthen number sense, fluency, and problem-solving skills. We set goals and students work hard to achieve them.

The supplies included in this project will provide additional motivation for students to meet their goals and a reward to acknowledge the hard work they put in to achieve them.

Other supplies included in this project will support the organization of our classroom corner space. We use many hands-on manipulatives to develop a concrete understanding of math concepts. Pouches will help keep these materials organized and additional whiteboard space will provide an opportunity to model student thinking. The portable stool will allow for flexible seating opportunities and easy access to one on one support. Lamination sheets will allow us to create sturdy and reusable reference sheets to support student autonomy.

Myself and my students will greatly appreciate the addition of these resources in our classroom.
