Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are hard-working 5th and 6th grade students who are eager to ask questions and love to learn. The majority of my students come from low-income backgrounds where resources are very limited at home. The community where they are living is an area where gang activity and crime are present.

My students are creative, intelligent, and have great hopes for their future.

Many of my students are English language learners. They are getting prepared for the 21st century by using technology as part of their learning.

My Project

This pandemic has made teaching and learning from home a whole new experience for all of us. I would like to further engage my wonderful students with these high interest and colorful reading magazines. These readers have fascinating stories in all genres. They have a variety of leveled articles, audio versions, and vocabulary slides to incorporate into my teaching. My students would each get hard copies of the magazines while I would project the same copies virtually. Please help me keep my students engaged in reading and culturally connected at the same time.
