Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My students have a wonderful way of looking at the world with more than 89% of the students having English as their second language. They are constantly bringing stories from their home countries into the reading lesson.
What makes my classroom so unique is that many of these students come from different countries and backgrounds, which makes for a colorful array of perspectives when learning the English language.
Many of these same Emergent Bilingual students have a high interest in sports including but not limited to soccer, baseball, and football. My students love positive reinforcement through motivational stickers, candy, and student-selected seating. The materials that I have requested will help these students build their intrinsic motivation socially and academically.
