My Project
I am a first-year special education teacher. I currently teach 120 high school-age students and have 15 additional students on my caseload. In addition, more than half of my students are dual language learners and come from low-income housing.
For the past few years during the pandemic, all students in the school, regardless of socioeconomic status were receiving free nutritious breakfast and lunch.
This past school year, there is no more funding where everyone gets the school lunch for free. Some students relied on a healthy balanced school lunch daily, but now most students do not have the money to pay for a school lunch or breakfast. Right now it is the time of year when students need extra motivation and they are fueled by food! Please help fund my project so students have at least something nutritious in their bodies throughout the school day. We would like chips, cookies, and candy bars.
