My Students

Each day in my gym at school I am surrounded by wonderful kids who are ready and willing to participate and learn. The gym is usually action packed with large co-ed groups participating in the days scheduled activities and current units objectives.

My school is a Title 1 school in an urban neighborhood.

My students are of minority backgrounds. My students are wonderful and fill my heart with joy. I love teaching where I am, I have been here at my school for 10 years. The social responsibility component of teaching is top priority in my gym. Cooperation and tolerance are key words used in daily affirmations of our mission.

My Project

I am requesting equipment that I will use in cooperative learning activities. Omnikin ball games, large group kickball games, small group cooperative basic biomechanic development, cooperative aerobic tasks/games are a few of the learning experiences that will be enhanced with the use of the requested equipment. My students will learn several new cooperative games that we will play. My students will learn to value the feelings of their peers. My students will learn to work together, develop socially and experience a set of cooperative games that are different from the traditional sports played in Phys Ed.

My project will make a difference in the overall development of my students character.

Through their experiences in the cooperative games/activities units they will develop respect and tolerance for their peers. My students will also have a lot of fun with the equipment requested! These experiences will relieve students stress and give them positive experiences that will help in their character development. Thank you!
