My Students

Reading comprehension strategies are what we all rely on to understand what we've read. My students need reading passages and graphic organizers to help them make sense of the text before them. These high interest passages and accompanying graphic organizers will be so engaging!

My classroom is full of diverse learners.

The majority of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch. The teachers at our school are always looking for ways to engage young readers and motivate them to become life-long readers. To do this, we need to expose our students to texts that they find interesting. We must also build their confidence as readers by developing their reading comprehension strategies.

My Project

As I work with small groups of students, these high interest reading passages will engage my students as we focus on key reading comprehension strategies. My students will be able to use the graphic organizers in our High-Interest Intervention Reading Folders to record their thinking as they interact with the text. Best of all, these resources will be used year after year.

These resources will both motivate my students to read as well as support my reading comprehension instruction.

With these tools in their toolboxes, my students will soon begin to transfer these skills to all of their reading.
