My Students

I serve a unique mix of children in a third-grade classroom in the Ozarks. I love them, everyone! However, over the past few years, I have noticed a change in the number of students with sensory needs growing at a progressive rate.

Serving a significant number of students with a low socio-economic status proves so rewarding when you are able to provide them with experiences and opportunities that otherwise they may never know.

I love to see the moments of sheer happiness on their faces.

My Project

Last year we began to transition into a classroom that offers full flexible seating. After a year of trial and error we have learned a lot - a lot about what we prefer and what does not work so well for us in the world of flexible seating. The Comfy Floor Seats have been by far the favorite seating option for the third-graders who use my classroom. I would like to give my students four more of these seats so that we can convert another small group table into this style of seating.

This is a fantastic way to encourage collaboration between the students!
