This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help my students continue to build their problem-solving and social skills by having opportunities to use morning tubs, including LEGOS, to practice working cooperatively and being creative. These morning tubs will help students work together and practice working as a team by sharing materials while practicing their literacy and STEM-building skills with magnetic letters and legos. Some students are still having trouble taking turns, and these activities will help them practice their turn-taking skills and help with social-emotional learning so they can go into second grade as more confident learners. Next year, I will also be able to use these materials to help students transition from kindergarten to first grade since the longer day can be a challenge for some students.
