My Project
I'm going to be teaching a 1st period class of English learners. These students, who have only been in the U.S. for a couple of years, tend to be very shy. I'd love to make my classroom a more welcoming space for them by providing them with a morning cup of tea as well as a dedicated fidget toy. Some mindfulness coloring books also seem worthwhile to have for any students experiencing emotional stress.
These students need extra love and support.
Many of them miss home and some are even separated from their families. Other than my ELD class, they are expected to take the same classes and submit the same level of work as peers who have been raised in the U.S.
