Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Three mornings each week we start the day with a morning journal.

My students are high achieving first graders.

They attend a magnet school in California and they work hard each day to reach their highest potential. Part of this process is becoming authors and illustrators. I believe that many opportunities to write in different genres helps them develop into authors.

My Project

I would love to continue our morning journal routine. The students look forward to writing in their journal. Then, three students are chosen each day to share what they wrote which helps with their public speaking skills. The composition journals and pencils would be used to continue the morning journal routine we started this year. The blank books would be used to publish their first book in class.

Your contribution to our classroom project would benefit my students as developing authors.

I work to motivate and teach students to write to the best of their ability and constant practice will help them develop these skills.
