My students are in sixth grade and come to me for ELA. Through my class, my students are learning to become stronger readers, writers, thinkers, and listeners. They embrace every strategy that is taught to them with eagerness and enthusiasm.
My Project
What is one thing some of us love to do while drinking our morning coffee?
It's reading the News!
Whether it is the newspaper or a magazine, reading to keep up with current events is something we value and continue to learn from. Sadly, most of today's students are getting their information from unreliable and untrusted sources. That is where Scholastic News comes in. I would love for it to be their "morning coffee" during homeroom.
Providing my students with a subscription to Scholastic News will not only give them a news source they can trust, but will also allow them to think critically about current events, form their own opinions, and enhance their learning, all before their first class of the day!
