More Than Just a Warm Space!

Help me give my students a warm and affirming environment where they feel eager to visit, share and grow as emerging adolescents with a K-cup coffee maker, cups, and hot cocoa k-cups.

My Project

For over a decade I have been an integral part of the Safe School Ambassadors program within my school community. As an advocate for all things students, I am seeking additional ways to hook and retain students in my after-school club. With the long cold winters in our region, being able to provide students with a warm drink during intentional and intense conversations surrounding bullying prevention would enhance the overall experience and vibe we are trying to create. A welcoming and affirming environment where all feel welcome, safe, secure, and excited will continue to boost the SSA program within my school community.

The requested items for this donation, albeit small, with have a tremendous return on their investment, and the opportunity to be reused for many years. While some of the items are consumable (pods/cups), the initial donation of the machine and materials will really get this up and off the ground. While I have indicated this project will serve roughly 90 students, the truth is the work we do has the potential to impact a building of roughly 750 students.

My students are special because they are dedicated and committed the mental health of others within their peer groups, and entire school community. While there are many clubs to join, this most popular club brings together the students who are willing to be trained to help prevent and intercede when bullying is taking place. They deserve more than we can ever provide to them, and their tireless work after school hours to make life just a little bit better, a little bit safer and a little bit more tolerable is paramount for the growth and development of their peers.
