Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our small, Title 1 school is located in the city of Bell Gardens, CA. My students 4 to 5 years of age come from a diverse community that is well rounded demographics. For many of my students this year is their first year in a school setting and due the pandemic their first time socializing with peers after quarantining for the last two years. All my of students are active learners who enjoy using manipulative’s and hands on activities to learn and explore new concepts.

My Project

We currently only have about 10 medium size blocks, some magnetic blocks, wood pieces and legos for my students to build with. Although my students enjoy the type of blocks we have in our building center, I would love your support to help me provide my students with a new shelve and large blocks to bring our building center to life.

As we continue to explore and build relationships adding large Blocks to our building center will encourage my students to use their cognitive skills, social skills, math skills and language skills in fun and child lead environment.

In addition to supporting these skills children are applying all the skills necessary they will need to be successful in achieving different developmental milestones that are measured in the DRDP that ensures children are learning the skills needed in different stages of development.
