Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students spend 8 hours daily in school, not counting extracurricular activities, and 180 days of instructional time. When calculated, students spend 1,440 hours in school. Of those hours, students will be spending 90 minutes a day with me. Because of this, I want to make my classroom a place that is not only safe and welcoming but also aesthetically pleasing. The idea is that my classroom should be a place that students look forward to.

Especially since I don't have windows, which have an effect on mental health, I want to create a room that brings a charming and warm safe space that aims to help students better concentrate and support mental health.

For instance, the fluorescent light covering's selling point is to "improve focus in classrooms, [and] create a calm and relaxing environment for working and studying." In addition, you'll notice I have also added a mirror to which I intend to add affirmations around the framing. All in all, everything aims to make my room more than just a classroom.
