My Students

My students are 21st-century learners who are eager to use all of the technology available to them. I teach 26 curious fourth-grade scientists in a small Title I school that has an amazing and supportive principal.

My students are eager to learn and their brains are sponges that absorb any and all information given to them.

Everything is a potential investigation or experiment to them, so I strive to provide my students with as many learning and project-based opportunities as possible. I constantly enhance the school curriculum and students' intrinsic motivation to learn more by infusing STEM correlations whenever possible.

Because of our small school size, funding levels are not as high as other schools in our area. Grants and projects like this one become an integral part of how I obtain resources to supplement learning experiences. I truly believe that the future lies in our children. They have virtually unlimited potential, and my job is to enable them to reach it.

My Project

As the school year progresses, my students and I are so happy to be back in the classroom after 18 months of remote teaching and learning. My students are learning how to become less dependent on their Chromebooks to complete and submit assignments and are producing work and projects manually. This presents a small but wonderful problem: We need more toner for our classroom printer!

My students love to print, show off and display their completed work!

The toner requested in this project will give us a nice supply for the next few months.

In addition, I am requesting additional seat sacks because I will be getting new students due to classroom reorganizations. My classroom does not have traditional desks, so more seat sacks are needed for my new students so that they have a place to store their materials.

Teaching during a pandemic has been challenging to say the least, but my students are happy and resilient. Thank you for helping me provide the supplies they need to continue to succeed.
