Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are 21st-century learners who are eager to use all of the technology available to them. I teach 25 curious fourth-grade scientists in a small Title I school that has an amazing and supportive principal.
My students are eager to learn and their brains are sponges that absorb any and all information given to them.
Everything is a potential investigation or experiment to them, so I strive to provide my students with as many learning and project-based opportunities as possible. I constantly enhance the school curriculum and students' intrinsic motivation to learn more by infusing STEM correlations whenever possible.
Because of our small school size, funding levels are not as high as other schools in our area. Grants and projects like this one become an integral part of how I obtain resources to supplement learning experiences. I truly believe that the future lies in our children. They have virtually unlimited potential, and my job is to enable them to reach it.
My Project
My classroom does not have traditional desks! My students all sit at round tables, on the rug in groups, on flexible seating options to collaborate....any where they want in order to collaborate and work on projects. However, because of this, they do not have a place to keep their books, journals and writing materials.
Seat Sacks to the rescue!
These over-the-chair storage options are the perfect solution! My students will be able to keep the materials they need and use the most right at their fingertips, keeping their tables from being cluttered with lots of "stuff"! These materials will be a wonderful addition to our classroom, make our transition back to in person learning smooth, and help my students stay organized.
