Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In September, for the first time, I created Donor's Choose projects. One was for "Snacks for Bronx Teens" and the other " Chromebooks for my English Language Learners". While I still need the Chromebooks, I don't think it will be funded by the time it needs to be so thought to redirect any extra funds to "More Snacks for Teens".

Although I thought I would provide snacks just for my Advisory group, I gave snacks also to my English Language Learners; we have run out and would be so appreciative of more snacks for second semester.

Thank you so much for providing snacks for my high schools teens in the South Bronx. I saw their productivity in class increase tremendously with afternoon snacks. My 9th graders don't have lunch until 1:30 so if I don't give them a snack during our 6th period that starts at 12:45, this period is really a struggle. They are hungry.

With snacks, I have them reading, writing and discussing our material. Who doesn't love to eat while studying? Thank you so much!
