My Project

Our garden is beginning to look awesome and we are almost ready to plant in the beds. The beds are nice and filled up, but now we ran out of soil for our new beds that still need to be put together. We also need a shelf and liners because you can never have too many shelves to store everything on. The trash can will be used to put the potting mix in after we add coco coir, perlite, and vermiculite. It keeps it dry and easy to fill our pots as well. The weed eater string is the best string I have found to cut all the grass and bushes around the farm.

Running the farm and keeping it in top shape requires a lot of work, hours, and supplies, but in the end, when you see what can be harvested for lunch, it is all worth it.

My students have already seen what one class period can accomplish, and they have ideas of what they would like to do in the future to grow food. Eventually, we will cover every available space in the garden with a raised bed so we can plant as much food as we possibly can for ourselves, our classmates, and our community!
