Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

All of our students are immigrants - our school has students from over 25 countries and they speak over 30 languages. What ties all of the diversity together is the reason that families chose to move to America - to fulfill their dreams and give a better life to their children. Our students are ambitious and they know they have to work double time to get ready for whatever is coming next. They have to learn English at the same time that they are learning math, science, and history that is new to them.

Teachers and support staff at our school go above and beyond to make sure every student has what they need.

For some students it's extra snacks, for some it's after-school tutoring, for some it's an extra sweater, and for some it's having an adult who knows you and can give you good advice. Our school cares about each individual student and every student here can find an adult who cares about them.

My Project

Students can not do their best learning if they are hungry. School lunches are often not enough. Our students like to stay after school, and we need to make sure they have the energy they need to keep learning all day long with these snacks. They love soup!

Nutritious snacks not only fuel student learning, but they also teach students good habits and will help them maintain healthy eating practices even after they leave school.

Some of our students may not have food at home some days and need to be able to eat a hearty meal before they leave school. No more chips equals no more crumbs! My students will be very grateful to receive your support so they can keep learning as fast as they can.
