My Project

My students need a new circular snack table and a stand for our rugs.

A communal snack table is central to a Montessori classroom and a work rug stand will help keep our classroom tidy.

In the Montessori classroom, the child notices when they are hungry and the child starts snack when there is a space available at the snack table. Snack is a social time and it is critical in helping children develop conversation skills and table manners. This table will fit three children and will be perfect for children to enjoy a snack with their classmates.

Additionally, organization is key in the Montessori primary classroom. The children enjoy rolling up a work rug carefully and precisely. When they place their carefully rolled rug into a the laundry basket we currently use, the rugs often turn into a messy pile. The tidy, organized structure of the rug stand will encourage the children to put more attention into rolling their rug so that they can place it into the rug stand.
