This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students are curious, thoughtful, and always eager to challenge what they think they know—especially when it comes to stories and history. That’s why Medusa by Katherine Marsh is the perfect novel for our next classroom adventure.

This book takes everything our students love—mystery, mythology, and bold characters—and flips the script.

Instead of the traditional tales, Medusa invites readers to see the other side of the story, encouraging them to question, analyze, and rethink the labels we put on people—especially girls.

With this project, we’ll provide students with individual copies of the novel, along with materials for journaling, small group discussion, and creative projects that help them explore themes of identity, power, and truth. These resources will support both literacy skills and critical thinking as students dive into Greek mythology with a fresh, empowering perspective.

We love our students because they are not afraid to speak up, think deeply, and embrace stories that challenge the norm. Your support helps us foster that curiosity and give them books that reflect their strength and spark meaningful conversation.
