This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a Social Worker at a middle school in the South Bronx seeking funding for resources to teach financial literacy during weekly classes.

Learning financial literacy is a skill that everyone needs to know and the younger one learns about managing finances the more prepared they are for the future.

My school is located in a community that is primarily low income. My students are not independent financially from their parents, yet I feel that it is important for them to learn budgeting skills now to prepare them for when they are.

No matter how much money a person acquires, learning the basics of investing, banking, and budgeting is a necessity to financial freedom.
