Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are an inclusive group of both general education students and special education students who have a range of needs and learning styles. My students are eager second-grade learners who love school!

Being in and out of school this past year has really taken a toll on them, and they can't wait to start school in person again this fall!

My Project

Financial literacy is so important and one is never too young to start learning. My students need to understand the value of money. Most are not familiar with budgeting, investing, spending, and how much money it really takes to be independent.

I want my students to develop skills to make wise financial decisions and I will use the games, magnetic coins, and mentor texts to teach them!

The Lakeshore Learning kit that I am requesting will allow me to teach my students the value of money and practice skills like needs, wants, spending and budgeting. My students will love playing the games included in this kit, which will not only reinforce all the concepts that they will learn, but it will be a fun way for my students to interact with each other and learn at the same time.

In addition to this financial literacy kit, I am also requesting a new mouse, as well as connection cords for my laptop. These cords will help give me a better connection to my smartboard during my lessons.
