My Project

Each nine weeks we teach a new module in reading. Each one has a different theme and before I even start anything about reading, we have a class 'book tasting.' This is where I transform my classroom into the theme, Module 2 is Outer Space! Then the students get to have outer space themed snacks while they are previewing the cover and back of each of the five books that we will be reading. It's a blast for all of us!

I will be using the marshmallows, cookies, pop rocks, star cereal, and other treats for my students to eat during the book tasting.

I will be using the tablecloths to cover each table to look like the stars in the sky. I will also be giving each student a goodie bag with the pencil, mini notebooks, stampers, lollipops, and more.

It's one of my favorite times of the year! I dress like an astronaut and my students have the best time being introduced to our second Module, "Outer Space."
