This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am creating a calming corner for my students so that they can have access to an area in the classroom with beanbag chairs, pillows, and other comfortable furniture to de-escalate when they are having a tough time.

Calming corners are known to be useful strategies with books, fidgets, and other tools to teach self-management and emotional regulation.

This calming corner will be used as an intervention to help increase social-emotional goals for students as well as increase their overall learning outcomes.

I love that my students enjoy learning techniques to regulate their emotions. These kids are our future. They deserve everything in the world.
