This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Remote learning has changed the way students receive instruction drastically. Students are required to log on to computers or Chromebooks to receive instruction which has been difficult for many students. The desire for many of them to have face-to-face classroom interaction has made them feel out of touch with their teacher. Due to the swift change to remote learning, I relied on my basic desktop at home which does not have a camera or microphone to deliver lessons and presentations using Google Meet to my students without knowing that it would not be enough. The use of a camera and microphone will make a difference in the way that I can deliver my lessons to my students. The camera and microphone will allow for high-definition viewing and listening of historic topics that will be taught and presented.

My Project

The transition into remote learning changed instruction significantly. I relied on my simply standard desktop at home to create lesson plans, presentations, and research on the internet. Once remote learning commenced, I had to seek additional ways to reach my students since my desktop computer does not have a camera and microphone. After experiencing remote learning, and the uncertainty of returning to my classroom now is the time to seek materials that will help me teach from home. I am seeking a laptop with a camera and headphones with a microphone that will allow my students to see and hear me with lucidity. These materials will help me to effectively communicate and deliver tech savvy lessons to my students during remote learning. The use of a camera and microphone will make a great difference in the way that I can deliver my lessons to my students. For example, the camera can be used so that students can actually see me and support how I remotely navigate the lesson. The microphone headset will allow the audio to be clear and also give me the opportunity to be hands-free so I can switch screens to provide additional support to maximize the lessons and presentations.
