Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I absolutely love teaching 8th graders. I have been doing it for 11 years now at the same school I started my teaching career. When I began teaching at LMS, I had taken over the class from a veteran teacher. She left me her belongings, and so I was fortunate to not have to purchase much to get started. It's time for a refresh though, as many of the drawers are old and worn and get stuck often. I'd love to give my sweet students a refreshed environment with some new decor.

Additionally, our district has struggled with funds and I do not have a full classroom set of graphing calculators for my students to use.

While some will be able to buy their own, there are many who cannot afford it and I'd love to build a calculator library to use over the years. Now that technology is more pervasive and kids use their Chromebooks, power strips that can reach any desk are a must!
