Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our classroom, we learn that books are windows and mirrors. Books are windows into the realities of others and books are mirrors that reflect the lives of my students. All of the books we are hoping to receive are highly engaging, prioritize diversity, honor many cultures, and promote empathy. These books will be used to help build our classroom library and my students have specifically requested these books be added to our shelves.

All of these books challenge students to become stronger readers, better thinkers, and more compassionate people.

As a Special Education teacher, all of my students have learning disabilities that make reading challenging. Developing strong readers is my ultimate goal and the love of reading is something I am passionate about building in my students.
