My Students

I teach an Autistic Support classroom, made up of 8 students and two paraprofessionals. My students have a lot of academic and behavioral needs. We will be learning virtually to start the school year, which is not ideal for my particular students. Each student is at a different instructional level, which makes it challenging. I intend to get my students the materials they need in order to have the best chance at growth this school year.

With the diverse needs in my classroom, it's important to always have new materials and manipulatives to meet the students' individual academic, behavioral, and sensory needs.

Individual work allows my students the opportunity for the most growth academically.

Virtual learning will allow us all to feel connected, but they will need critical supplies for home learning. My students are mostly low socioeconomic populations with limited means on their own. Some of these materials will help by separating the tasks the students will complete at different levels to address their social, life skills, and academic needs. Laminating will help our classroom get a lot of use out of the materials printed. Thanks in advance for considering my students!

My Project

Prior to virtual learning, we would use our Ipads as a motivator and reward for on task behavior and great work. They are currently over 10 years old and are no longer capable of uploading new apps. There are no funds to update these as students received laptops when we went virtual. Our Autistic Support students require motivation in order to complete work and to remain on task. We have returned to a hybrid model, so the students when in person will benefit from the updated technology as motivators.

My students will benefit from the inclusive coloring supplies to represent themselves, friends, family, and other classmates accurately.

My students love drawing pictures and using pictures to answer questions or summarize stories; this will be a perfect addition to the basic colors they already have.

They need a lot of practice of basic skills, so some work is laminated so they have the opportunity to not waste as much paper and to practice the important skills they need to succeed daily.
