Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project provides essential Modern Band equipment for 160 grades 5-8 students. After combing through my school's inventory, it became clear that we need a few things to move forward. The students are very excited, and I am working to meet their enthusiasm with all the tools to engage their interests fully.

My school's instrumental program was fortunate to receive $2,500 from Palo Verde Fiesta Bowl Charities Wishes for Teachers, which has been applied to this project.

I am seeking funding to help fulfill the remaining balance. This type of equipment is expensive and difficult to provide without additional support.

We are requesting a Casio keyboard to accommodate two additional keyboard players. I already have one keyboard, so a second keyboard will help engage more learners in the classroom at once.

We are requesting two Mackie speakers as monitors for the keyboards and vocals. Each speaker has two inputs. This will help us balance the sound levels in our classroom, and in the long term, we can use these as stage speakers if needed.

The pearl drum set will provide an additional learning opportunity for those interested in drums. We have an existing drum set without cymbal hardware (also requested). We do not have any drum thrones. The bundle rods will help reduce sound levels for beginning drummers.

The Fender guitar amp will provide some amplification for our one electroacoustic guitar. The two mics and cables will help us build our sound equipment inventory and help young singers learn not to strain their voices over instruments.

The strap blocks ensure that students holding electric guitars or basses can safely have their instruments without worrying about falling off.
