Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are an inner-city school of visual and performing arts. My students live in neighborhoods where violence and crime are pretty much a part of their daily lives. They want to make a difference in the world and they want to go to college or trade school. They have visited college campuses and this exposure to the world outside of the school environment has energized them to pursue their career goals.

My students are determined to be successful!

My students are great kids, many come in years behind academically and work hard to catch up. They try their best every day to improve their own and others' lives. They do this with focus and determination.

My Project

The students in my 11th grade college and career class are going to be hosting a career fair in school for the 9th and 10th graders. They need presentation boards and markers so they can present the careers that they are interested in and put together a creative presentation board.

Presentation boards will help students display information to their peers.

Presentation boards help organize all the necessary and useful information and give a professional look to the research that they conducted.

They have spent a significant amount of time researching a career of their interest and need display boards to present the information for everyone to see. They need to markers so everyone can read what is written, especially if they are standing about 4 feet away. Markers allow students to call out the necessary information that they feel others would find interesting.
